ASUS Z83V base system. Call the number at the bottom of this page if you need any help with configuring you notebook.
This is a view of the back of the notebook. I will describe the connectors from left to right.
The S-Video composite TV Out Connector. This is where you could hook up the notebook to a TV or video projector for office presentations.
The VGA connector. This is where you could plug in a monitor for use in the office.
The 4 USB 2 connections. This is for an optional mouse or external drives.
This is a view of the Bottom of the notebook.
This is where we install the Memory. You have two slots for the memory. When you select the memory from the list above try to pick The options that use 1 of the slots. This will leave you a slot open for future expansion. For example 1 512 meg strip is better than two 256 meg strips because you have an open expansion slot.
This is also where we install the CPU that you pick from the above list. For example Centrino 1.6 Ghz 2 MB CACHE MODEL 730 533FSB This means that it is an Intel Centrino mobile processor. The speed in this example is 1.6 Ghz, this example has 2 Megabytes of Cache Memory. Large Cache memory makes the computer run faster because the processor does not have to go out to main memory for temporary storage.
This is also where we plug in wireless LAN interface. This unit supports a Intel 802.11abg Pro Wireless LAN card which supports all major wireless technologies.
This is a view of the Front Edge of the notebook.
This is where you unlock the screen to access the keyboard and turn on the Notebook.
This is a view of the Left Side of the notebook.
The first connector is the 10/100 lan connector.
The second connector is the 56K phone modem Motorola SM56 Data Fax Modem great for faxing messages while your on the road .
The third connector is a USB2 interface.
Also there is the Microphone-in & 1 Line-in .
Headphone-out jack .
The red lens is a Fast IR port.
The eighth connector is a Firewire interface IEEE 1394 - B Type Jack . This is used for some external drives and audio equipment.
To the right of the firewire connector is a PCMCIA slot for adding more devices such as future sound cards or network interfaces.
Then over the PCMCIA slot you have a memory card slot for inserting memory cards from your digital camera 4-in-1 built-in card reader: SD/MMC/MS/ms pro.
This is a view of the Left Side of the notebook.
The power connector. This is where you plug in the power transformer that is included with the notebook for charging the batteries or using the computer at an office desk.
This is where the DVD drive is installed.
